Eating Disorders are a range of psychological disorders characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating habits. This may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the extent of putting in danger the physical and psychological health of the person. People suffering from Eating Disorders are primarily pre-occupied with food and body image. The two most common Eating Disorders are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.
- Bulimia nervosa is a disorder characterized by binge eating and purging. Purging can include self-induce vomiting, over-exercising, and the usage of diuretics, enemas, and laxatives.
- Anorexia nervosa is characterized by extreme food restriction to the point of self-starvation and excessive weight loss
